Come be a summer camp tutor this summer. ACLE (www.acle.org) needs people who want to work with kids in Italy.
You'll have the opportunity to work between 2 weeks and 2 months in Italy, live with an Italian family, eat good food, and experience Italy in a new way.
There's a 4 day orientation when you first arrive, then the camps run for 2 weeks a piece for the entire summer in cities all across Italy, from the Alps to Sicily.
The work requires working with kids, so you have to like that. It requires a lot of energy but it's also a lot of fun and you're working with people from all over the world. You might be at a camp in a great city or at the beach, or you could be in some small town where there's not much to do. Regardless, you'll see real italian

Hi, I'm back. Here's a brief update of the past few months.

Josh, Austin, and I had the pleasure of treating Mr. Marc Zouhar to a round of miniature gold and Wendy's for his birthday.

Who wants some The Tick comics? I have issues #1-12 in great/mint condition plus a handful of others. They're all yours. Nobody paying a worthwhile amount for them on eBay and while I love The Tick, I don't need these comics any longer. Peace.

What an opportunity! The [formerly] Gay not Gay house is clean & available! It would be awesome if someone would rent this place because then the WP Pines takeover would be up and running. I have no vested interest other than letting you know of a great house that's available.

On Tuesdays I eat lunch at Herb & Peg's. Peg whips up a hot-pressed veggie sandwich on cuban while Herb slaves away over some huge pot, never smiling or saying a word. Carmen takes my order and charges me anywhere between $2.50 and $6 for the exact same meal - it's always a surprise. Their baked goods are outstanding, but they're sharks when it comes to selling them...
"Do you have oatmeal raisin cookies?"
"We have oatmeal raisin cookies."
"I'll have one of those."
"You want two of them?"
"No, I'll just have one."
"You sure? They're 3 for a dollar."
"Ok, I'll have 3." |
